Oil Drilling PAC R is a kind of water-soluble cellulose ether derivative made from natural cellulose by chemical modification, and an important kind of water-soluble cellulose ether. Usually the sodium salt of Oil Drilling PAC R is in application.
Oil Drilling PAC R has excellent heat-resistant stability, salt tolerance and strong antibacterial activity. The slurry or fluid prepared from the product has better fluid loss reducing capability, rejection capability and higher temperature tolerance. Oil Drilling PAC R is widely used in petroleum drilling, especially in salt well and offshore oil drilling.
Oil Drilling PAC R（DRISPAC） is effective over a wide range of pH environments. It lubricates solids in the system, improve wallcake characteristics and reduces the potential for stuck pipe.

Chemical Properties
1. High Degree of Substitution
The degree of substitution is 0.85-1.4.
2. Heat-Resistant Stability
The aqueous solution has stable performance at the temperature below 80℃. When the temperature reaches up to 150℃, Oil Drilling PAC R can still show a certain viscosity and last for about 48 hours.
3. Resistance to Acids, Alkali, and Salts
When the pH value is 3-11, it has stable performance and can be applied in all kinds of extremely harsh environments.
4. Good Mutual Solubility
Oil Drilling PAC R can be mutually soluble with other cellulose ethers, water-soluble colloids, softeners and resin. When the DS of PAC is over 1.2, it gradually shows oil soluble.
5. Good Solubility
PAC R can quickly dissolve in cold and hot water with simple stirring equipment and the dissolution rate in hot water is faster. The fast dissolving PAC can fully dissolve within several minutes, and thus greatly improve convenience and production efficiency.
6. Favorable Stability
The aqueous solution of Oil Drilling PAC R owns light stability, so it has a longer shelf life as well as strong anti-bacteria and anti-mildew properties, and is non-fermented.
7. Very Low Amount of Usage
Owing to its own high degree of substitution and stability, the usage amount of Oil Drilling PAC R is 30%-60% of CMC in the same operational environments. To some extent, it reduces the use-cost of enterprises, owns high cost-effective advantages, saves the consumption of raw materials at the same time, and shows higher economic and social benefits.
8. Safety
The principal raw material of Oil Drilling PAC R is refined cotton, so it has no pharmacological effects itself, no harm in physiology, and green and environmental production process.
