Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium for Paper Coating

In order to adapt to and meet the coating process requirements, engineers and technicians in our company carefully have analyzed the Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium for coating overseas and then made improvements in the production process. At present, each technical index and application effects of products have met the demands of foreign customers.

Features and Functions of Products

1. Increasing Water Retention Value (WRA) of Coating and Preventing Adhesive Migration

Water-retaining property is one of the important factors of improving coating efficiency and quality. Water retention value has a direct effect on the reasonable degree of adhesive migration volume within the coating system. Consequently, the preparation of coating with favorable water-retaining property is a precondition to guarantee the quality of coating paper and increase the product grade. Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium is very effective in this respect. Plenty of application practices have proven that scientific adjustment of coating formula and proper use of Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium can not only improve coating quality but also reduce the production cost.

2. Improving Rheological Properties and Increasing the Solid Content of Coating

The prepared coating with Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium has favorable rheological and leveling properties, as well as capacity to adjust the coating viscosity. The viscosity of coating prepared with Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium for paper coating is far lower than products of this kind and imported products. Furthermore, the shear thinning property of coating on the machine is far superior to the imported products.

3. Reducing Use Cost and Improving Economic Performance

As a water retaining agent, Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium can be used in coating to directly reduce the use cost, because the application of Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium can increase the solid content of coating, reduce the water content of wet coating, decrease the dry load, effectively increase the vehicle speed, enhance the production efficiency and then reduce the production cost.

4. Other Properties

In coating, Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium can also act as the dispersing agent of coating, the carrier of brightener and lubricant of scraper.

5. Dosage Instructions (For Reference)

The dosage of Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium is generally controlled within 0.5-1.5% (calculated by oven dry weight of pigment) and the specific formula can be adjusted by users according to the actual conditions.

Users should make reasonable adjustments to the dosage and formula by synthesizing the body paper, type of coating equipment, type and grade of converted paper. For example, if it needs to prepare coating with high viscosity and the body paper is poorer in quality, then the usage amount of Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium can be considered to increase and the effects can be more obvious.

6. Directions for Use

In preparing coating, under the condition of velocity mixing in the well dispersed pigment dispersion liquids, put the weighing Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium uniformly and slowly into the disperser and then quickly stir.

Product Packaging, Storage and Transportation

This product uses craft paper sacks for packaging and there is a lining of polypropylene plastic bags, and each bag weighs 25 kilo. Since CarboxymethylCellulose Sodium is apt to water and moisture absorption, contact with water should be avoided during the storage and transportation and especially breakage of packages should be avoided. The remaining Cellulose Gum in package after use should be immediately sealed for storage.
