Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC)

Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC)

PAC, short for polyanionic cellulose, is a kind of water-soluble cellulose ether derivative made from natural cellulose by chemical modification, and an important kind of water-soluble cellulose ether. Usually the sodium salt of Polyanionic Cellulose is in application and widely used in petroleum drilling, especially in salt well and offshore oil drilling.

In the shape of white to light yellow powder or particles, Polyanionic Cellulose is tasteless, nontoxic, strong in hygroscopicity, and freely soluble in cold and hot water.

Polyanionic Cellulose has excellent heat-resistant stability, salt tolerance and strong antibacterial activity. The slurry or fluid prepared from the product has better fluid loss reducing capability, rejection capability and higher temperature tolerance. Polyanionic Cellulose is widely used in petroleum drilling, especially in salt well and offshore oil drilling.

Polyanionic Cellulose is widely used in all the industries where Sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) can be applied, and can provide with more stable application performance. For example,

1). Polyanionic Cellulose can be used as the sizing agent of fine gauze instead of starch in the textile industry;

2). Polyanionic Cellulose helps to improve the longitudinal strength, smoothness, oil resistance and ink absorption of paper when added to the pulp in papermaking industry;

3). Polyanionic Cellulose can be used in the preparation of soap and synthetic detergents in daily chemical industry;

4). Polyanionic Cellulose can function as the latex stabilizer in rubber industry;

5). In addition, Polyanionic Cellulose PAC LV can act as the intensifier, emulsion stabilizer, crystallization-preventative agent thickener, binder, suspending agent, water-retaining agent and dispersing agent in such fine chemical industries as coating, food, cosmetics, ceramic powder and leather.
